Promote Your Blog in 2018

Hi Everyone,

In 2017 I started a blog post called “Promote Your Blog” where fellow bloggers could share and promote their blog with the MIU community. This post resulted in 25,000+ views and 4,000+ bloggers sharing the who, what and why behind their blog.

I want to create a new directory to even out the playing field for newcomers to the blogging community. If you shared your blog in 2017, please feel free to share it again. To the newcomers, please leave a description about what readers might find if they visit your site. Also, remember to include a link to your blog.

Hopefully this will create some positive synergy for our very special blogging community. Let’s make 2018 the year of less perfection and more connection. Also, feel free to reblog this post so we can get more people involved. Happy blogging everyone!

Dr. Perry

  1. Hello,

I am Twinkle Gupta, 21yrs of age, Indian by nationality, and jolly by heart. I have joined Word Press in 2015 but recently I started posting my experiences with everyone. My blog isn’t about something specific. It’s just a blend of all the emotions that I feel. Through the esteemed platform of Word Press I want to motivate people as much as possible , tell them my opinions, and form a healthy connection with the Word Press family. It would be a pleasure to me if you can promote my page so that I may get more motivation to write!

    Stay blessed Twinkle Gupta

Day-to-day – devoted to the daily life and how it should be formed according to principles found in section 1.
Hopefully, you guys will enjoy the articles on my page. Whatever is written there is reflected through my experience and were able to improve my life.

I’m Elle and I’m fairly new to the blogging world. I’m a Psychology student who has battled with mental health problems over the years and through this have learnt so much. Knowing what I know and seeing a light at the end of the tunnel triggered me to start a blog to share this with others. Whether it touches 1 or 1000 lives doesn’t matter to me but to know that it could have possibly helped someone truly would be amazing. My blog is a mix of serious issues and fun topics.
I really hope you find my articles both whitty and wonderful and somewhat influential on your life

My name is Elizabeth, but I go by Lizzie. I am a recent law grad, with a true passion for Environmental and Animal Law. My blog, is primarily about appreciating nature, wilderness and animals for what they are. I also plan on incorporating more about environmental issues and animals that need protection as well as great recipes that don’t use animal byproduct.

I am relatively new to blogging even though I have had my account a while, but I truly want to create a better world. Hopefully you enjoy the nature reflections and appreciation of life over all. Peace and love <3,

    • Hi everyone! I’m Amy and would love to get a following as well as your support for my blog at I’m a mom who’s lost five children and I’ve created a blog to share stories about what that experience is actually like, seen not only through my eyes, but through the eyes of my son, Julian (who went through all of this with me) as well. This is not a “woe is me” blog, but rather a blog to help others understand what the loss of a child is like, to show how a person can grow from that experience, and to provide a sense of “normalcy” for others experiencing loss who are currently wondering if what they are thinking and feeling is “okay.” I would SO appreciate your support and promise to return that support back to you in abundance! Happy blogging!!

🦅 SoundEagle is a garden of art, science, poetry, music, video, graphics, cartoons, animations, games and puzzles in a beautiful, dynamically syndicated press containing posts, buzzes, events and social media updates.

May you find ample enjoyment and meanings in perusing SoundEagle’s posts and pages, which, as you might have observed, tend to be polysemic, pluralistic and multifaceted, given that they often contain complementary prose, poetry, art, graphics, cartoons, animations, games, puzzles, music and video, sewn and strewn together synergistically as well as aesthetically, but whose denotations and connotations are left in your hands, in your eyes as a beholder, in your ears as an audience, in your mind as an interpreter, in your heart as a connoisseur, in your patronage as a reader, in your discretion as a fellow blogger, and in your whim as a free thinker.

Please feel free to leave plenty of your footprints, to share your thoughts and feelings, to join SoundEagle on a special quest of empathy and consilience, via wisdom and understanding, through discovery and appreciation. For those who have a playful or adventurous streak, your patience with wading through posts and pages will be rewarded by music and video as well as interactive games, puzzles and animations, all of which await your discovery and enjoyment.

SoundEagle hopes that you will find something to your liking, to jolt your memory, to pique your interest, to linger in your mind, to provoke a discussion, to question a paradigm, to gain new insights, to see from multiple perspectives, to become more holistic — something that provides the extra spark for you to be more enriched and consilient — something born of, or connected to, the interests of SoundEagle. 🦅

    • I am just a messenger who within my time here has been remembering love. There are many who have forgotten. It is time to hear as one from the voice within. This place each of us holds that is calling us back to love.

The messages I bring are from my earthly experiences and from beyond this existence. For like you, I am a soul born of creation and we are all walking through this experience we call life. Though to focus on the material existence, is to miss the greater truth that is within you. Nothing material could ever fill that void.

I am an African-American woman, mother of one phenomenal daughter – Symphany. She is, has and always will be the reason for my existence. I love her more than words can say. I am the recipient of a double Masters in Business Management & Organizational Development. A lover of Christ and concerned about the “Human Condition.” My life’s experience covers a gamut of good, bad and sometimes intensely ugly. A survivor of emotional, verbal, physical, drug addiction and spiritual abuse, I now serve at the pleasure of the Lord.

Opinionated – yes and full empathy and compassion for the “Human Condition.” Albeit it is my desire to teach, inform and when and if all possible shed just a little light on the road to Freedom. How one can attain it, measure it, feel it, and share it with others so that they may also reap the benefits, it is not now nor will it ever be my intent to force feed anyone “my way of operating/navigating, this thing called life.”

You will find stories of the personal lives of others in the media and at home, you will find stories of pain, desperation, mental abuse, physical abuse, drug addiction, scandals in politics, most importantly my desire is that I can provide hope through God.

    • Hi. I set up my blog, TouchDownUnder, to document my travels and adventures in Australia. I like to hitch hike and climb mountains and go skinny dipping. But also it’s about people, the highs and lows of a real life of Travel, a life beyond the comfort zone where your only choice is to grow to survive. It’s painful at the start, but in the end it’s all you know. Since I returned home, the blog has become more than that, largely I must say thanks to Daily Prompts, which has transformed TouchDownUnder into a compendium of thoughts, not exactly hard boiled philosophy, but undeniably something with an ethos of stoic positivity and an appreciation for the beauty of life.
I work as a freelance writer, and put a bit of myself into everything, but it is my blog which continues to be the primary outlet for verbal creativity.
I think of it as an alchemist’s pantry; shelves of curiously shaped bottles, unlabelled, distilled tinctures of who-knows-what.

I’m excited to read your posts. I’m in college too (not university yet, only community). University has got to be a lot more challenging with not drinking tho seeing as how a lot of students join frats and clubs and binge drink quite a bit. I’ve had my challenge with drinking the last 2 years but I now need to completely stay away from it for mental health and medication reasons. For the last 2 years I’ve really struggled socially because all of my friends just like to go to bars and have house parties and stuff. That’s why I’ve relapsed a couple times.
But I definitely share your thoughts and experience so I look forward to your posts!

We all have our reasons for not drinking; you just need to remember that this decision does not define you. One of my closest friends said that those that mind don’t matter and those that matter don’t mind! That’s how you know who your true friends are. It may only be little consolation but you will always be welcome on my blog! 🙂

A place where I dump all the information from my face into a entertainingly organised rambling of my photography, photoshop and writing. While those are my primary topics, you’ll also find posts on music and technology. You may or may not find a tonne of philosophy fused into everyday life and me turning it all around for the sake of the future. You miiight get tired of seeing the word ‘potential’ in my writing.

  34. SamanthaDee says:

Well Hello from England! My Name is Samantha and I have written a book called ‘My Big Fat…Fat’ which is out in February 2018. It is an A to Z documenting my personal experience with Obesity.

The book explores how being overweight (with constant dieting) has affected me personally. It contains funny stories, tools, tips and advice to keep you company – whatever “diet” you’re on. One of the many points in the book is not to advocate any particular diet, but I think its message is that, armed with the right tools, education and preparation, we don’t need “diets”. There are personal accounts, diet reviews and quite a lot on meditation, mindfulness and habit forming/breaking.

The idea of writing the book came to me after a sort of epiphany; that over-eating has stolen a very large part of my life and personality, and so the book kind of stemmed from there. It was going to be a serious book, but then I thought ‘There are millions of women on a diet, right at this very moment, what is it we’re all going through?’ – that and my sense of humor really got the words down ‘on paper’. Then it naturally developed into an A to Z, with funny bits and some not-so-funny bits.

If I can get a giggle out of a reader, or even a “I know, right!” – then I’ve succeeded as far as I’m concerned. When we embark upon ‘a diet’, we kind of enclose ourselves. It’s very isolating. This book is about saying ‘You’re not alone’.

One reviewer said: “I am a HUGE fan of your work. I can’t stress that enough. Your message is important, but most importantly the way you write is clean, crisp, concise, fun, spunky, and hence easy and enjoyable to follow. Your edgy sense of humor is a raucous delight.”

‘My Big Fat…Fat’ is out in February 2018

I have ME/CFS, probably the most underfunded and misunderstood disease out there, and have reached a pinnacle. Before becoming disabled in 2008, I was a nurse practitioner. Now that I’m feeling better I want to give back by sharing my training, experience, and lessons living as a woman with an invisible illness. There’s a motley collection of blogs from me and some guest posters. I still flail around trying to find my true voice and niche amongst chronic illness bloggers. Any suggestions are gratefully received, as are criticisms of the blog itself.

Thanks for the opportunity to share my info, Dr. Perry.

    • Kudos to you for continuing to get the word out about the misunderstood and forgotten ME/CFS. I was diagnosed with CFS in 2001. As if feeling “dead” isn’t enough, having an “invisible” illness complicates the experience and deepens the frustration. It’s been a very long journey but I am pleased to say that after radical life changes, I’ve been managing quite well — to the point I feel like I am “living.” All the best to you.

  53. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to share. I’m really looking forward to exploring the blogs posted here. My own blog is about cultural, personal, and national identity. As a Cross-Cultural Kid I’m always looking out for people like me, whose parents come from one or more different cultures, and who grew up in a culture alien to their parents. Growing up that wasn’t always a given, and that was part of the reason I started blogging, to find others and share mutual experiences. But also to take away from the cliches often associated with people belonging to another culture.

Even though I identify as French-American (the Hungarian part comes and goes, and the Jewish-Catholic part adds a nice twist), I’m focusing on Helsinki and Budapest. I lived in Finland for nine years and am moving back this year, and these years have added valuable spiritual and metaphysical lessons I could not have learned anywhere else. Yet, even though I only lived in Budapest during some of my college years, it seems to be the place where I can recharge my batteries.

I hope that my writing can help others – those known as Cross-Cultural Kids and Third Culture Kids as well as those curious about the subject – and I’m always happy to answer questions.

However, since writing is an act of self-actualization by which I feel creative and meaningful of my existence, I keep on writing until someday someone who appreciates my works will ask me to have them published in books.

Hii I’m Shyah. My blog is 2017 was a pretty tumultuous year for me spiritually, emotionally, and physically. I would write notes to myself and thoughts on my phone and toward the end of the year I decided to share these thoughts with others. I will continue to write uplifting notes, thoughts, insights, and poems because maybe someone is in need of the same love that lifted me.

Hi all! My name is Liz. I started my blog Wine & Humor in 2017 to tell my story as I go through a divorce, raise two little girls and watch my father battle stage 4 cancer. I talk about how to cope with it all while still maintaining a social life and trying to get back out there in the dating world. It’s sometimes funny and sometimes sad but it’s all very real and I am happy to share my journey. Have a look and forward it on to someone who may be having some of the same struggles.

Hi!! I am Allie Pezza, I go to school at Appalachian State University. I write for my blog Coffee Talks. In life, so many things go unsaid. Many people don’t share what they’re going through or what’s on their mind. My mission is to find my voice and inspire others to find theirs by writing about anything and everything that crosses my mind- the good the bad and the ugly.

I want to encourage people to share what they have to say and to open up about difficult issues. And what better way to do it than over a warm cup of coffee?

Feel free to check it out.. hope you like it! XOXO your gal pal Al

  98. Dear WordPress family,
I began the blogging experience in late 2017 and love getting the inspiration to write as well as learning from others’ experiences in life. And I love the photo blogs! I did not know about those!
I wrote a little for small magazines pre-digital era (the early 90’s-Ha!) and am just now getting back into writing, since my kids grew up and I’m “on the back side of 50”; I like to write about life changes, funny experiences and things that “just happen” to all of us– and learning to handle them with both grace and grit — a lot of laughs–and with community! Because we need each other! I am a psychologist and educator by training and experience but say that life and friends are some of life’s greatest teachers …

Please stop by and say HI, and I will definitely continue exploring your awesome sites throughout the year as well!

    Happy 2018!

What a wonderful thing to share and allow! My name is Kyle and my blog is ..I am looking forward to setting up self hosting soon to drop the piece and lose the ads, but for now it serves what I want it to.

My blog is about pointing out the direction we received about faith, hope, and love from 1 Corinthians 13:13 but mainly focuses on the three issues we all face that cause that faith, hope, and/or love to be broken. Those things are:
    -A broken view of ourselves..
    -A broken view of others
    -A broken view of God

I am a Christian so you will find scriptures in my posts as resources but you could relate to the posts even if you are not Christian. I aim to drop the barriers that religion sometimes have and just connect as people. I am very interested in psychology (reasons for behavior) and efficiency (I work with Six Sigma and Lean practices) and enjoy connecting those things with personal and relational growth and avoiding waste.

The blogger part features a short to improve lifestyle and physical care, my bad experience with pills, and quotes.

Hello! My blog, On Purpose, began nearly three years ago. Just a few days after I began blogging, I was greeted with unexpected news of a cancer diagnosis. The blog quickly became a mechanism for sorting out my thoughts and experiences through my cancer year. It continues to be a sorting place for thoughts and life experiences. My posts aren’t as frequent, but I’d like to change that. I seek to be purposeful in choosing my words and view writing as a powerful tool for expressing what I sometimes cannot say aloud. I write about life moments, people’s stories, my own insights or search for insight. I consider myself an explorer and would love to do some writing that centers around travel and culture. I welcome readers and feedback.

I often write trilogies. Some feedback I received a while back was that my posts were a bit long so in 2018 I will have a weekly theme and work on a concept of “what it is”, “what it does”, and “how to overcome/manage it”, in three articles on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (or late the night before).

June 2017 I moved to San Antonio, Texas after living on the east coast my entire life: New Jersey, North Carolina, Massachusetts, Maryland… I appreciate how the pace is slower here, there is more art, and the growing season is almost all year around. I’ve been a science teacher in both private and public school settings for 20 years. Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math have all been incorporated into my teaching and now I structure my time between my 2 kids and volunteering as a Texas Master Naturalist.

Hello everyone! I started my blog, The Fuzz, on July as therapeutic release from the heavy content in my work and school life (genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity). I do not touch on any of these subjects in my blog; however, they are the bite in my humor, the realness in my observations, the love in my crafting, and the humanity in my devotions. I want us all to just “live your philosophies”, so I have three blog rooms for us to hang out and examine ourselves in. The Waiting Room is a gallery of poetry, crafts, and photos. Rumors are stories built around human observations and isms (life lessons). The Journey is more personal, includes Sonrise Sunday devotionals. All are welcome!

  154. Hi everyone. Happy New Year! This is a wonderful idea. I write about my various adventures in growing my coaching business, parenting my three kids and finding joy wherever I can — all from a positive psychology perspective. I include book reviews, action plans for simple changes and musings about raising my puppy.

My most recent post lays out an no-fail way to set New Year’s Resolutions (no one likes New Year’s resolution formation as much as positive psychology practitioners).

Hello all and thank you Dr. Perry for allowing us to share and promote our own blogs. Here is the link for mine…/a-…/ I am coming off of a 16 year relationship with a malignant narcissist who also suffers from PTSD and depression. Our relationship has ended because I unmasked him and he is not even speaking to me now. That is the hardest part for me right now. I am working through it as best as I can.

  156. My name is Angie and I have been blogging for almost week now. I am a college student, psychology major, and I am obsessed with my naural curly hair. It has taken me 3 years to get my hair how it is now and I would love to help others who may be struggling with their hair as I was a few years ago. Aside from hair, I love talking about life and how to make the best out of it! I would appreciate any feedback on the posts I have up (since I am just getting started).

I am HARBANS KHAJURIA, I remain a student as far as getting knowledge is concerned. When I interact with somebody, even rank unknown even, I want to learn about him/her and that inspires me to write about that person. That person’s positive traits, since I think, everybody has been created differently in every respect – a fine character of our Creator.I believe in Karma – that what you think and act comes back to you in equal measure. Thanks and God bless.
